Friday was a day of eating out & stuffing my face (Read: Momma needed to loosen a notch on her belt.) First hitting up local favorite, Sisters, for some salmon chowder. Then I switched up the outfit just a bit & my babe & I went out for sushi at Katana which serves the best scallops I've ever had in my life. Kev & I always make sure it's our last bite as nothing really compares to the flavor.
I purchased this quilted jacket at the Goodwill maybe a little less than a year ago. It reminded me of the the quilted jackets Isabel Marant did for one of her collections. I often look at designer collections & take pieces I like & then keep my eye out for something reminiscent of that item at the thrift. For instance these Isabel Marant boots. Before these boots became available for purchase I just fell in love with the colour. I ended up finding the perfect pair of suede heels in the same bordeaux tone at The Rack for like $15- & got more use out of them than most shoes in my closet, including these boots. Which I tell ya what they cost a hell of a lot more than $15-. Can you take out an insurance policy on pair of shoes? I'm kidding. No I'm not.
Thrifting Tip: Lucky Belts
I use to work for Lucky when I was 19 & I forever regret not purchasing more of their belts. They are some of the best I'd seen. The leather is great quality as is the hardware. I found this belt at Value Village I honestly felt like it was the Holy Grail. Don't pass one up if you find one. Unless it's to small, then gift it or let it go. If it's to big you can at least add an extra notch.
